In fulfilment of his campaign promises, the Executive Chairman, Ovia South-West Local Government Area (LGA), Engr. Edosa Enowoghomwenma has donated dozens of grinding machines to women from across the ten wards in the LGA.
The grinding machines procurement and distribution initiative for the Ovia South-West indigenes is in partnership with N-Care, aimed at empowering the women in the locality to enhance their means of livelihood.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Council boss noted that a comprehensive ground assessment was conducted to meticulously identify the women in need, hoping that the provision of the mini-grinding machines would significantly enhance their business endeavours.
Enowoghomwenma maintained that the thoughtful approach reflects his administration’s commitment to impactful interventions that would directly address the needs of the ordinary man in the locality.
Meanwhile the Chairman has promised the people that his administration will soon launch another economic empowerment initiative for businesses growth and stability in the area.
The initiative, according to the council boss is tagged Our Market Money” scheme.
The scheme “Igho’Eki Oduwa,” is aimed at providing financial assistance to market women across the Ovia South-West Local Government Area.
This initiative, he said, underscores the administration’s resolve to fostering economic growth and stability for the grassroots entrepreneurs.
Enowoghomwenma further maintained that through initiatives like “Igho’Eki Oduwa”, the Local Government Council will continue to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to driving positive change and promoting economic prosperity within the community.
According to the Council Chairman, When women entrepreneurs are empowered with the right tools and resources, they need to succeed.
“We are laying the foundation for a more inclusive and prosperous local economy.
He urged Ovia South-West women to continuously show support for the Obaseki led State Government which is giving all the needed support for the Local Council to succeed.
