Saudi Arabian woman Rumy Alqahtani made history as she joined the esteemed lineup of contestants in the 2024 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.
Alqahtani is a Bachelors degree holder in dentistry. She also boasts proficiency in multiple languages, including English, French, and Arabic.
Her accolades include being crowned Miss Saudi Arabia, Miss Middle East (Saudi Arabia), Miss Arab World Peace 2021, and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia). She has also showcased her talents on various global platforms, with her recent endeavor being the Miss and Mrs Global Asian pageant in Malaysia.
The organizers said they are a global, inclusive organization that celebrates all cultures, backgrounds and religions and which provides a safe space for women to share their stories and drive impact personally, professionally, and philanthropically.
The women who participate in this international platform serve as inspirational leaders and role models to their communities and fans around the world, the organisers said.
Alqahtanis inclusion pushes her into the footsteps of Bahrain’s Lujane Yacoub, who made history by participating in the previous year’s Miss Universe pageant, representing the conservative Gulf region.
The organizing committee of the international beauty pageant has revealed that Mexico will be where the next ceremony will take place on September 28, 2024.
Current holder of the pageant is Miss Nicaragua who was crowned in 2023.
