Nigerian businessman Obi Cubana has heaped praises on two of the leading Nigerian aviation company owners for their collaboration in the business, despite being competitors.

In a Facebook post on his page, Obi Cubana narrated his observation as he ran into, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo and Dr. Allen Onyema, owners of United Nigerian Airlines, and Airpeace Airlines. The aim of Cubana’s post is to educate the African youths about “the power of positive competition” using these two iconic businessmen as an example.

He explains with a photo of him and the two gentlemen, that he met them aboard Airpeace, on the inaugural flight from Lagos to London Gatwick on March 30th, 2024, before takeoff.  His post read:

“Dear Youth…
Today let’s discuss the power of positive competition” – Cubana’s post read

“This was on board Air Peace inaugural flight from lagos to London Gatwick, on Saturday 30th March 2024, just before take off. These two great men do the same kind of business; airlines operations!

I have  met both at several occasions and i can tell you they share mutual love, respect, admiration for each other,  and they celebrate each other’s wins as if it’s theirs!

They could have chosen to be bitter competitors, but they chose good friendship, brotherhood, positive association, positive collaboration instead of bitter competition!

And yes, they both thrive individually!!

Lessons; we can do same businesses and remain humans!

Learn to collaborate, and even if you choose to compete, let it be positive and healthy competition!

The sky is massive enough to accommodate all to fly”

Obi Cubana who’s a Businessman himself, multitasking as a Philanthropist, has over the years become an Inspiration to African youths and businesses enthusiasts.

Cubana, is the CEO of Cubana Group of Companies, and is highly patronized. He is using this experience with other top  inspirational African businessmen like Dr. Onyema and Dr. Okonkwo to encourage young Africans to practice collaboration over competition.

It’s common to see many Africans engaging in unhealthy competition, which doesn’t only brings a drawback but kills future collaborations.
