Labour Party in Edo celebrates reelection of Abure as national chairman

The Labour Party, LP, in Edo State has congratulated Barrister Julius Abure on his reelection as the National Chairman of the party.

DAILY POST reports that Abure and other members of the National Working Committee of the party were reelected on Wednesday at the national convention of the party held in Nnewi, Anambra State.

The State chapter of the party in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Sam Uroupa, described Abure’s reelection as the national chairman of the party as a testament to his quality leadership, dedication and unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals.

He added that Abure’s reelection signifies a vote of confidence from party members and stakeholders in his ability to steer the party towards greater heights.

According to him, Abure’s experience, vision, and strategic approach to governance have undoubtedly played a pivotal role in his re-emergence, reflecting the trust and support he enjoys within the party.

“Under Abure’s leadership, the Labour Party has witnessed significant growth and progress, both at the national level and within Edo State. His inclusive leadership style, focus on grassroots mobilization, and emphasis on transparency and accountability have resonated with party members and supporters, fostering unity and cohesion within the party.

“Abures type in political party management in Nigeria is rare, he grew the Labour Party from zero level to global prominence.

“As the National Chairman, he has consistently championed the values of the Labour Party, advocating for social justice, equality, and the empowerment of the working class.

“His reelection presents an opportunity for the party to build on its achievements, expand its reach, and further advance its agenda of promoting the welfare and interests of the people”, he said.

Speaking on the September 21, 2024, gubernatorial election in the state, the state leadership of the party, affirmed its unwavering commitment to the candidacy of Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata to providing a credible alternative and representing the aspirations of the people.

“As the political landscape evolves, the party remains steadfast in its dedication to promoting good governance, social welfare, and economic prosperity for all residents of Edo State”, he added.

The party, however, congratulated other National Working Committee members reelected alongside the national chairman of the party, promising to work closely with them to achieve the party’s goals and aspirations.

He also commended the Chairman of the National Convention Committee, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Ikechukwu Emetu of Abia State, for the successful convention.
