Abia State Police Command has said that it has apprehended one Emmanuel Victor, the principal suspect in the murder of Emmanuel Uche, a student of Abia State University, Uturu.
Emmanuel Uche, a 500-level student of ABSU was on March 11, 2024, killed by some persons suspected to be cult members and the viral videos of the killing which took place in front of Miracle Lodge, caused a sensation on the internet.
But Abia State Police Command on Thursday, said a team of its detectives has arrested the principal suspect in the murder, identified as Victor Emmanuel.
A press release signed by ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Abia State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, said: “Acting on a credible intelligence today, April 18, 2024, at about 1100 hrs, a team of police detectives from Abia State Police Command, apprehended the principal suspect at Isiukwuato who was captured in the viral video committing the murder of Emmanuel Uche at Miracle Lodge, Abia state University, Uturu.”
The press release noted that the principal suspect has confessed to the crime and is presently in lawful custody.
The Abia Police Command added that the suspect would be charged in court.
