The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has secured an exparte injunction restraining further action on his purported suspension as member of the party.

In an exparte motion granted by Federal high Court in Kano, Wednesday, Justice A. U Liman ordered the purported suspension of Ganduje as member of the party at Ganduje ward be halted.

The ruling came on Wednesday after Ganduje filed an ex parte motion to stop the action against him while seeking enforcement of his fundamental right in the substantive suit, slated for 30th April, 2024.

Joined in the suit (respondents) are the nine ward executives that moved Ganduje’s suspension, the Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The order granted read “That all the Respondents, their servants, agents or privies are hereby restrained from Implementing and/or giving effect to the purported decision reached during the purported emergency meeting of the alleged Executive members of APC Ganduje Ward, held at Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa Local.

That all the parties are hereby mandated to maintain status quo before the purported emergency meeting of the alleged executive members of APC Ganduje Ward, and to stay action in respect of this matter pending the hearing and determination of the substantive application,” Order issued on 17th April, and signed by Justice Liman read.

Ganduje was suspended by nine members of the 25 executive members of his Ganduje ward, Dawakin-Tofa local government area of Kano state, over the alleged corruption charges roaving around their kinsman.

The splinter ward executives who were accused of impersonating the original ward executives went further to secure Justice Usman Na’abba’s exparte to validate their actions.

Justice Na’abba equally restrained APC, NWC of the party and two other from taken any further action against the sack of Ganduje until the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.
