Everton enter race for Ndidi with reported offer ahead of new season.

Speculations abound as English Premier League side Everton emerges as the latest contender in the pursuit of Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi. Reports suggest that Everton has formally submitted an offer to secure the midfielder’s services for the upcoming season.

After a standout campaign with Leicester City in the English Championship during the 2023/24 season, Ndidi’s stock has soared, positioning him as one of the most dependable defensive midfielders in Europe.

Despite Leicester’s relegation, Ndidi’s impressive performance has attracted attention from various clubs, sparking rumors of a potential transfer. Although Leicester managed to retain him despite his contract expiring in a year, the midfielder’s future remains uncertain.

Having played a pivotal role in Leicester’s promotion back to the Premier League, Ndidi contributed significantly with four goals and five assists in 31 appearances this season.

Approaching the end of his contract extension signed in 2018, Ndidi is now free to negotiate terms with interested clubs, with Spanish powerhouse Barcelona and several Premier League outfits expressing interest in securing his services on a free transfer this summer.

Transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri revealed Everton’s bid for Ndidi, adding a new dimension to the ongoing saga surrounding the midfielder’s future.

Free agent this summer, Wilfred Ndidi already received a proposal from the Toffees trying to anticipate the competition. Several clubs are already working on his case but the Super Eagle hasnt chosen his destination yet. Wait&See, he wrote on his X handle.

Having joined Leicester from Genk for £17m in 2017, Ndidi has impressed since his debut season, prompting the club to extend his contract until 2024.

Meanwhile, reports from jeunesfooteux.com indicate that Leicester is already planning for life without Ndidi, with RB Salzburg’s Lucas Gourna-Douath identified as a potential replacement.

Furthermore, footballleagueworld.co.uk reported that Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Fulham are all vying for Ndidi’s signature.

Turkish giants Galatasaray are also eyeing Ndidi’s contract situation, while Mundo Deportivo suggests Barcelona’s interest in strengthening their midfield, with Ndidi among the players on their radar.
