Ondo guber: Olorunfemi emerges Labour Party candidate

Ahead of the November governorship poll in Ondo State, Dr Ayodele Olorunfemi has clinched the gubernatorial ticket of the Labour Party, LP.

Olorunfemi emerged as the winner of the primaries of the party conducted on Friday at the party’s secretariat in Akure, the state capital.

Hon. Olusola Ayodele, the chairman of the primary election committee, who declared the result, disclosed that out of the three aspirants who initially showed interest, only Olorunfemi obtained the party’s nomination form of N25 million.

He said: We have no other option than to pronounce the sole aspirant, Dr Ayo Olorunfemi, having fulfilled the condition in line with the guidelines, as elected and returned unopposed.”

In his acceptance speech, the LP candidate said he would embark on welfare programmes if elected governor of Ondo State.

The Labour Party, being a socialist-oriented political party, will focus on governance that reflects people, people and people,” he said.
