A former deputy governor of Ondo State, Ajayi Agboola, has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November election in the state.

Agboola polled 264 votes at the party''s primary held on Wednesday.

He was followed by a former member of the House of Representatives, Kolade Akinjo, who got 157 votes.

Agboola was the former deputy governor to the late governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, before they parted ways following irreconcilable differences.

Attempt by the State House of Assembly to impeach Ajayi during the crisis between him and the late Akeredolu failed.
