Human rights activist and co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over how the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo invaded Abuja on Wednesday with police and thugs and stopped the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), from arresting his predecessor, Yahaya Bello.

SaharaReporters had reported how policemen attached to Governor Ododo on Wednesday stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja and prevented the personnel of the EFCC) from arresting the former governor.

The EFCC operatives had on Wednesday barricaded Bello’s house in Wuse, Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over alleged financial fraud to the tune of N84 billion.

However, Ododo visited the embattled former Kogi governor on Wednesday afternoon with a retinue of security operatives amid the siege at the latter’s Abuja residence and prevented the anti-graft agency from arresting him.

Reacting to Governor Ododo’s action in Abuja, Yesufu who sees it as an insult to President Tinubu took to X platform to say, “I cannot imagine I, Aisha Yesufu, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a Governor will come to Abuja where I am, to prevent @officialEFCC from arresting someone.

“As in, prevent it from carrying out its constitutional sanctioned duty. Nahhhhh!
Kai! Poor Nigeria!”
